Yes I'm serious, 0,01%???
From about 8,000 clients we have there are over 500 reports of constant problem with HWID, user reinstall Windows and his activaion counter are used.
Or change CPU and also.
As for hyper-V over 10 reports + few about changed processor.
Please understand that there are some situations where ANY HWID checking is needed, not really strong but ANY and more flexible.
Why you think you know better than your customers what they need? Preety strange approach, hard to understand
If someone wants to hurt himself (in your opinion) just allow this to him
Your HWID can be bypassed anyway so I don't understnad argument about CPU and do not allow full flexibility user.
Evenrtually you can warn about this and explain in documention.
Checking serial number, should have additional overloaed function or parameter which will allow custom or more changes to HWID than just CPU+1 change (If I understand it correctly now it's CPU + 1? )
Perfect solution could be add two more scenarios optionally about allowing changes in hardware:
CPU+2
and second
2-3 changes (all) without CPU as mandatory.
Other than that VMP is great piece of software,
