Hi,
I am trying to protect a driver, after protection i testsigned it using certtool.
I have testsigning /on on my machine in order to load testssigned drivers.
(This works fine on Win10) however when trying this on my windows 11 machine:
sc create KernelDriverTest type=kernel binpath="C:\Users\testusr\source\repos\KernelDriverTest\x64\Release\KernelDriverTest.sys"
I am getting this error: 193
I looked it up and the internet says many different things ranging from file being corrupt to the sc binpath quotes being incorrect.
I am wondering if any of you have similar issues with latest version of VMP for .SYS files / Driver Protection, specifically for windows 11 (x64).
The security setting for me was: Ultra on several sensitive functions.
Driver Protection results in Error: 193 (When loading with SC)
Re: Driver Protection results in Error: 193 (When loading with SC)
You have to ask the Microsoft support directly about this error.I am getting this error: 193

Yeah, no. Microsoft will not help with this.
Will take an other year to get an answer that is actually on-topic from them.
It does strongly seem like securing driver with VMP is just not compatible on windows 11, only up-to Windows 10.
Can you do a test?
